Evaluation Guide & Sitemap
A comprehensive reference and direct-jump directory for hackathon judges, organizers, and builders. Understand Manak's evaluation model, access every feature with one click, and explore the complete platform architecture.
Explore the event through four role workflows
Under extreme evaluation time pressure? Jump straight into each critical persona workflow without configuration:
Control Room & Live Leaderboard
Real-time review coverage, judge calibration residuals, and 1-click stage projector ceremony.
02 / JUDGERubric Queue & Duels
Private rubric drafts, Bradley–Terry pairwise duels with active learning, and judge self-recusal.
03 / PARTICIPANTExplain My Rank Waterfall
Score waterfall showing the panel baseline, calibrated review contributions, published score, and reported uncertainty band.
04 / TRUST & VERIFIEREd25519 Offline Verifier
Client-side WebCrypto cryptographic envelope inspector and live tamper detection demonstration.
Evaluation Workflow
Judges' Evaluation Hub
Reviewers sign in through a one-use magic link. A disposable demo launched with MANAK_DEMO=true also offers Fast login for seeded personas. The repository prints links to its terminal by default.
Pairwise Head-to-Head Duels
Compare two randomized projects side-by-side. Rather than guessing numerical scores on an arbitrary scale, judges simply pick the stronger project or declare a tie. Active learning selects comparisons that resolve ambiguous placements.
Rubric Scoring Queue
Score assigned projects criterion-by-criterion across defined scales (e.g. Technical Execution, Innovation, Polish). Evaluators can save private drafts safely before final submission.
Project Gallery & Showcase
Browse all submissions across tracks with 1-click filter pills, inspect repository links, architecture summaries, and dedicated demonstration video showcase cards.
Community Choice Voting
Cast quadratic voting tokens for projects during public voting periods. Credit budgets bound per-account influence; identity abuse still needs independent review.
Judge-effect normalization: Assumptions and limits
- Leniency & severity correction: Judges naturally calibrate differently. The rubric model estimates reviewer offsets and shrunk scale effects. Pairwise comparisons use a separate Bradley–Terry model.
- Evidence matters: Sparse or disconnected review panels can remain unreliable after adjustment. Normalization cannot guarantee removal of reviewer luck.
- Anonymized public presentation: Public results pages name no individual judges or private ballots, preserving reviewer independence and candor.
Event Operations
Organizers' Control Room
Organizers have access to a real-time command center, live review coverage heatmaps, rubric configuration, and cryptographically signed results publication.
Organizer Dashboard
Monitor live review coverage with instant shortfall warning banners, projects needing additional reviews, panel overlap, and judge participation rates. Visual warnings flag information bottlenecks before judging closes.
Rubric Management
Define evaluation criteria, descriptions, minimum/maximum scale values, and relative weights. Changes are audited and versioned in the immutable ledger.
Judges & Invitations
Invite reviewers via single-use magic links without requiring password setup. Track invitation acceptance and active session timestamps.
Results & Ed25519 Certificates
Preview Model-adjusted standings, 95% confidence intervals, and tiered rankings. Publish results and generate signed offline-verifiable digital certificates.
Confidence & Evidence Diagnostics
Inspect residual variance, reviewer leverage, and numerical stability diagnostics to identify and resolve outlier judgements.
Finalist Tie-Breaker Assistant
Resolve close calls between top finalists using reported score intervals and, when available, a connected and converged Bradley–Terry fit rather than arbitrary decimal hair-splitting.
Tamper-Evident CSV Ledger
Export the full cryptographic audit ledger as CSV. Every vote, score, draft, and configuration change forms an append-only SHA-256 hash chain.
Participant Experience
Builders' Workspace
Builders register, form teams, and submit project details before the deadline. Submissions support markdown narratives, architecture diagrams, demo video embeds, and source repository links.
Team Formation & Roster
Create a team, invite collaborators by email or direct link, and manage member permissions.
Project Drafts & Publishing
Draft project title, tagline, problem statement, demo video, and code repository. Edits remain continuously available until the submission deadline passes.
Cryptographic Integrity
Trust, Verification & Ed25519 Certificates
Every certificate issued by Manak is cryptographically signed using the organizer's Ed25519 private key. Anyone can verify the validity of an award offline without querying or trusting the server.
Offline Certificate Verifier
Paste the organizer's public key or click auto-load to verify signatures locally using the browser's built-in WebCrypto API.
Hash-Chained Audit Ledger
All database mutations append to an immutable hash chain. The current ledger length and SHA-256 head hash are published live on every health probe.
